The route combines scenic alpine hiking terrain with short equipped climbing sections leading to the panoramic summit of Averau at 2,649 meters.
Despite its moderate technical difficulty, the scenery throughout the tour is absolutely spectacular. From the summit and surrounding ridges, you enjoy breathtaking views toward Marmolada, Tofana, Pelmo, Civetta and many of the iconic peaks surrounding Cortina d’Ampezzo. The route is especially famous for its beautiful golden limestone scenery during sunrise and sunset light conditions.
One of the highlights of the day is the authentic mountain hut atmosphere around Rifugio Averau and Rifugio Nuvolau, two of the most panoramic rifugios in the Dolomites.
