Off Piste Skiing Val Mezdì
Very nice offpiste run on the Sella massif
The deep snow descent through the Mesdì Valley - Val Mesdì - is one of the most beautiful and certainly the most famous freeride descents in the Sella Group. An unforgettable experience with your local mountain guide.
The start of the freeride descent through the Mesdì Valley is the Pordoi Pass. We can get here very comfortably with the Dolomiti Superski carousel, or directly by car over the Dolomite passes. The Pordoi cable car takes us up to an altitude of 2,950m. Here a short descent awaits us to the Pordoi Hut at 2,848m. We now cross most of the Sella plateau until we are below the Piz Boè. If conditions are good, we can also optionally climb the Piz Boè (but this requires special climbing equipment). After another short descent we reach the Bamberger Hut (Rifugio Boè).
This is where our descent into the Mesdì Valley begins. The entrance to Val Mesdì is steep and quite challenging when the snow is icy. After the first 100m, however, the valley flattens out a bit and you really start to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and the great powder snow.
After a final steep section, we reach the slopes in the area around Corvara. From here, the lifts take you effortlessly back to the starting point.
Crossing the Sella massif on skis and the freeride descent through the Mittagstal with your local mountain guide is a unique experience.
