Punta Cinque Dita Normal Route III+

Ideal beginner tour for climbers or those who just want to try climbing

The Fünffingerspitze (Italian: Punta delle Cinque Dita, Ladin: Piza di Cin Dëic) is a 2,996 m high mountain in the South Tyrolean Dolomites. It is located in the Sasso Lungo group. To the north it is bordered by the Sasso Lungo gap - with the Toni Demetz hut - and to the south by the Fünffinger gap. Further south is the Grohmannspitze. The municipal border between St. Christina and Selva runs exactly over the Giofel.
The name of the mountain comes from its shape. From the Sellajoch, seen from left to right, we have the little finger, the ring finger, the middle finger (main peak and highest point), the index finger and the thumb. On the latter there is also the well-known tour of the thumb edge. A very aesthetic tour in grade IV UIAA.
The first ascent of the Fünffingerspitze took place in 1890 by Johann Santner and Robert Hans Schmitt.
On the Sellajoch we take the gondola towards the Langkofelscharte.
