Spigolo Dibona Cima Grande IV+

Elegant ascent on the northeast face of Cima Grande di Lavaredo

The Spigolo Dibona is one of the great classics in the Dolomites. The route winds its way up the northeast face in around 20 rope lengths and 500 meters of altitude. Here we can experience a touch of the north face of the Zinnen without going above the UIAA level of difficulty IV.
We drive together to the Auronzo Hut, below the south side of the Three Peaks. From here we follow the flat hiking trail towards the Paternsattel. The north faces of the Three Peaks are already visible from here. Maybe we can see one or two climbers here who are venturing into this exciting and impressive north face. We climb the gravel field towards the northeast edge. This is where the entrance is. The main difficulties are in the lower part of the route. The way up is long, however, and the descent along the normal route should not be underestimated either. Overall, this is a very worthwhile tour with insights into the majestic north face of the Zinnen. Your one-helmeted mountain guide from South Tyrol will take you safely to the summit and back down into the valley.
