Booking Conditions
PAYMENT PLAN
Your booking is confirmed upon receipt of a 30% deposit (or the full amount for “last-minute” bookings made less than 60 days before the tour start). The remaining balance is due no later than 60 days before the start of the course.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Once we receive written notice of your trip cancellation, the following fees apply, calculated as a percentage of the total trip cost:
- 61 days or more before the tour begins: 100% loss of the deposit
- 46 to 60 days before the tour begins: 50% refund of the total trip cost
- 45 days or fewer before the tour begins: 100% loss of the total trip cost
These fees are based on the full booking amount. All days refer to the tour’s departure date. All cancellations must be submitted in writing.

Experience an unforgettable 6-day hut-to-hut hiking adventure on the northern section of the Alta Via 1 – from the turquoise waters of Lake Braies to the iconic mountain town of Cortina d’Ampezzo. This journey leads through breathtaking alpine landscapes, past World War I sites, peaceful high-plateau meadows, dramatic rock formations, and some of the most beautiful rifugios in the Dolomites. Enjoy authentic South Tyrolean hospitality, impressive panoramas, and the unique charm of one of Europe’s most famous long-distance trails.
DETAILED PROGRAM
📅 Day 1: Lake Braies – Rifugio Sennes / Fodara Vedla
↑ 870 m – ↓ 210 m – 8.6 km – 4.5 hrs
Hike from the legendary Lake Braies up to the Sennes plateau, surrounded by pristine alpine scenery.
Overnight in a mountain hut.
📅 Day 2: Rifugio Sennes – Rifugio Fanes / Lavarella
↑ 570 m – ↓ 640 m – 10.0 km – 5.0 hrs
A beautiful traverse through rolling alpine terrain into the Fanes area, rich in legends and history.
Overnight in a mountain hut.
📅 Day 3: Rifugio Fanes – Rifugio Lagazuoi / Scotoni
↑ 1105 m – ↓ 420 m – 12.5 km – 6.0 hrs
A demanding ascent rewarded with spectacular views, culminating at Lagazuoi or Scotoni.
Overnight in a mountain hut.
📅 Day 4: Rifugio Lagazuoi – Rifugio Nuvolau / Averau
↑ 835 m – ↓ 255 m – 10.5 km – 5.0 hrs
Hike across historic World War I paths and past the iconic Cinque Torri formations.
Overnight in a mountain hut.
📅 Day 5: Rifugio Nuvolau – Rifugio Croda da Lago
↑ 450 m – ↓ 830 m – 8.5 km – 4.5 hrs
A scenic day through quiet forests and around the Croda da Lago group.
Overnight in a mountain hut.
📅 Day 6: Rifugio Croda da Lago – Cortina d’Ampezzo
↑ 50 m – ↓ 890 m – 8.0 km – 3.5 hrs
Descend towards Cortina with panoramic views of the Ampezzo basin.
Note: Final accommodations may vary depending on availability.
