Full Description
The Normal Route on the Torre Piccola del Falzarego is a charming and approachable alpine climb in the Dolomites region, rising directly above the historic Falzarego Pass near Cortina d’Ampezzo. This small but majestic tower offers playful climbing on excellent limestone, making it an ideal outing for beginners and intermediate climbers seeking a fun and scenic ascent with an experienced mountain guide in Cortina d’Ampezzo. Thanks to its moderate difficulty and spectacular views, this route is one of the most popular introductory climbs in the area.
The Torre Piccola Normal Route follows enjoyable chimneys, stepped sections and airy ledges that lead to the slender summit of the tower. The climbing is never extreme, but requires basic multi-pitch skills, comfort with exposure and good footwork on Dolomite limestone. Throughout the ascent, climbers enjoy panoramic views of the Tofane, Averau–Nuvolau group, Cinque Torri, and the dramatic landscapes surrounding Falzarego Pass — some of the most scenic viewpoints in the Dolomites region.
For climbers exploring options in the Cortina area, our Dolomites Climbing Experience Page provides helpful comparisons of classic routes, difficulty levels and seasonal considerations. Additional planning resources — including safety tips, route variations and gear recommendations — can be found in our Complete Climbing & Via Ferrata Guide Dolomites 2026, covering both iconic and lesser-known routes across the Dolomites.
