Full Description
The Cinque Torri Guided Hike is one of the most rewarding and accessible hiking experiences in the Dolomites, combining spectacular mountain scenery with fascinating World War I history.
We meet at the Cinque Torri parking area and take the chairlift to Rifugio Scoiattoli, where our hike begins. From here, we explore the famous Open Air Museum of the Great War, visiting historic trenches, tunnels, observation posts, and other well-preserved military remains from the First World War. Along the way, your hiking guide will explain the history of the conflict and how soldiers lived and fought in this harsh mountain environment.
The route then continues around the spectacular Cinque Torri, five impressive rock towers that are among the most photographed landmarks in the Dolomites. This area is world-famous for rock climbing, and it is common to see climbers ascending the vertical walls while enjoying the stunning alpine scenery.
Throughout the hike, you'll enjoy magnificent views of the Tofane, Lagazuoi, Averau, Nuvolau, and many other iconic Dolomite peaks. The tour also passes beautiful mountain huts, including Rifugio Scoiattoli, with opportunities to enjoy local specialties while surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.
This hike is perfect for anyone interested in combining Dolomites hiking, World War I sites, spectacular viewpoints, and some of the most iconic scenery in the Alps.
