This spectacular guided hike in the Dolomites begins in Compatsch on the breathtaking Alpe di Siusi, Europe's largest high-altitude alpine meadow. The route gradually ascends through rolling pastures and alpine landscapes towards the impressive Denti di Terrarossa (Rosszähne), one of the most recognizable mountain groups in the western Dolomites.
The highlight of the hike is the crossing of Forcella Denti di Terrarossa, a spectacular mountain pass situated between the Schlern Plateau and the Catinaccio-Rosengarten massif. From the pass, hikers are rewarded with outstanding views of the Schlern, Rosengarten, Sassolungo, Sella Group, and many other iconic Dolomite peaks.
Just below the pass lies the beautifully situated Rifugio Alpe di Tires, one of the most scenic mountain huts in the entire Dolomites. Surrounded by dramatic limestone towers and high-alpine scenery, it is the perfect place to enjoy a traditional mountain lunch while taking in the extraordinary landscape of the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park.
