Full Description
This easy guided hike starts in La Villa, in the heart of Alta Badia, and climbs above the village toward the beautiful Rifugio Gardenacia. The route follows a quiet mountain trail through forest and alpine scenery, gradually opening up to wide views over the valley and the surrounding Dolomites.
Rifugio Gardenacia is the highlight of the tour. Located at about 2,050 m on the edge of the Puez-Odle Nature Park, this traditional mountain hut is known for its authentic Ladin atmosphere, panoramic position, and excellent food. It is the perfect place for a long, relaxed lunch — and one of those huts you really should not miss.
After lunch, the hike returns the same way back down to La Villa. For guests who prefer an easier version, the route can be shortened by using the Gardenaccia chairlift, which reduces the ascent, descent, or both by around 200 m of elevation. From the top station, Rifugio Gardenacia can be reached in about 40 minutes on trail no. 5 or 11b.
